Three days ago (Monday), in India, a protester set himself on fire and ran shouting through a demonstration in New Delhi the latest in a series of self-immolation protests against Chinese rule in Tibet their homeland .He doused himself with flammable liquid and was engulfed in flames as he ran past a podium where speakers were criticizing China and the visit of the Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to Delhi. This protester suffered from 98% degree burns that day. His name was Jamphel Yeshi. He died this morning from his injuries in hospital, he was 27. A lot of people have said his actions were too extreme and unnecessary. Some said he must have been insane to do it. Others mocked, and have laughed at his actions. Personally I think his actions were driven by desperation, and because he wanted to be heard, he wanted to make a difference. i would never advise any one to use the same method he used to bring about change, but no matter what we all say ,it does change the fact that he is dead. Whether or not his sacrifice was worth it, only time can tell. R.I.P Jamphel Yeshi.
